Description

An internal recruitment management system developed for the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), designed to streamline applicant tracking, job posting, and HR processes through a centralized platform.

Low fidelity Image

Problem

DOST previously handled job applications through manual submissions and decentralized announcements, which slowed down recruitment and caused inefficiencies in tracking applicants and posting openings.

Process

Built as a secure job portal prototype featuring applicant-side registration and admin-side control, using security tools and best practices.

  1. Conducted stakeholder interviews to understand HR workflow and recruitment challenges.
  2. Created mobile-friendly frontend interfaces for both applicants and admin users.
  3. Built core backend functionality using PHP, including login, job posting, application submission, and status updates.
  4. Developed an admin dashboard for managing jobs and reviewing applicants.
  5. Performed web security assessments using OWASP ZAP and resolved vulnerabilities.
  6. Prepared documentation and training material for HR personnel.

Solution

A working job portal prototype where users can browse jobs, apply online, and track application status. HR officers have admin-level access to manage listings and review applications in real time.

Key Insights

Although the system is not yet publicly deployed, internal testing demonstrated strong usability and security readiness. The development emphasized simplicity, security, and alignment with actual HR workflows.
